Enormously pleased with Milo at Gatcombe!!. He was 4th in the Open Championship. His dressage was pretty good for him, 35.8 but the competition was so tight that he was 30th out of around 45 after this phase. However there were only 10 penalties between him and the first placed horse so we knew he had a chance.
The show jumping is always tough at Gatcombe. The arena is quite small, very electric and quite uneven ground so there are never very many clear rounds. Milo showed what a great jumping horse he is and jumped clear.
The cross country was big and bold and again always sorts out the men from the boys as it's very hilly and so it's very difficult to get round inside the time.
As usual Mark rode a brilliant round to come home clear and inside the time, rocketing up the placings to finish 4th and gain £1000 prize money!! For Milo an amazing result given the calibre of the competition at this level.

All set now for Burghley, the plan is to keep him as quiet and relaxed as possible now and hope for a dressage test there as good as last year.
